Message :Besides Maglito, who posts regularly to TT.net. I'm curious on what they have to say about the fit/finish and performance.

Not everyone lives their lives on this forum, including Mike Smith. He is a member here (since 2001), but has only posted once. For some people, time is money. In that regard, maintaining a presense on tt.net is a waste of money.

As for fitment, I'd say they are probably not quite as easy to install as Jon's (can't get a torque wrench on all of the bolts), but then again Mike's don't require any head modifications

:I think what's boiling down on this discussion is that folks are split between being patient in hoping for a set of manifolds which bolt right up, will probably cost the same as Jon Abeler's mani's, and flow equally (or slightly better--but not "blown away" numbers from the flow bench); to giving up waiting for these 100 sets of mass produced manifolds to be ready, when Jon's are ready now.

Why then no classifieds post then announcing their release? Why aren't they in stock at several of the forum vendors? It is probably good that Jon's mani's require rework to the cylinder heads, otherwise he wouldn't be able to keep up with demand with his garage operation. Both you and Jon obviously don't know what it takes to have a mass produced, OEM quality product brought to market. This is Mike's first attempt as far as I know, and the learning curve has been steep.

So, by the time you pull your motor, pull the heads and send them to Jon for modification (you can't do anything with them for awhile anyway until you buy/gather parts for the rebuild--FedEx cost for me was ~$50), and get them back you could have a very well flowing set of mani's to install on your Z evidently before the Mike Smith mani's are released.

That is a lot of extra work to just install a set of manifolds. People who just want to pull the motor, swap the manifolds and drop it back in are probably not going to go for Jon's manifolds.

:BTW, does this Mike Smith ever come on here and post on his own behalf? Or, does he just have messengers do his talking on this forum?

Mike has never posted regarding these manifolds. So, are you Jon's messenger? I don't have to share this info. Mike doesn't ask me to do it. I don't work for Mike. He helped me out a TON on my buildup with some problems I was having, much of which was no charge. So, I guess I feel obliged to help him spread the word, even though he really doesn't need it. Although most of you don't know it because he doesn't post, Mike is a great guy.
